Vedanta-Foxconn to establish chip plant at Gujarat’s Dholera
Since the announcement of Dholera Smart City, the project has always been in news for some or the other development projects. The special investment region has hosted some of the mega projects which has attracted a lot of investors not only from different parts of India but from across the world. Because of the current and upcoming projects in Dholera, the price of Dholera SIR residential plots have seen a sharp rise in the recent past because more and more investors are buying properties in the region for residential and commercial purposes. Yet another fascinating and good news has arrived for the people who are already invested in Dholera properties or are looking to invest in future so we will discuss the news in detail in this article.
The good news
According to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, a joint venture created by Vedanta Limited and Foxconn will invest $20 billion to build India’s first semiconductor fab plant in Dholera. The organisation has decided to select Dholera and will be India’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility. The minister travelled to Ahmedabad to inaugurate the Semicon India Future Design program’s inaugural roadshow at Karnavati University. Vedanta-Foxconn and the Gujarat government inked an MoU last month to establish a semiconductor fabrication unit, a display fabrication unit, and an assembling and testing unit for semiconductors.
Vedanta-Foxconn’s $20bn fab to be in Dholera
With $20 billion in investments, a joint venture between the Taiwanese multinational Foxconn and Indian oil, gas, and metals behemoth Vedanta Limited will establish India’s first semiconductor fabrication plant (fab) in Dholera. Vedanta-proposal Foxconn’s for the largest investment under the semiconductor policy is the establishment at Dholera, which is the most likely option. The joint venture firm and the Gujarati government have agreed that they will have their headquarters in Dholera, which will be India’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility.
India will import semiconductors totaling $90 billion by 2025–2026. If the market keeps expanding at its current rate, the Dholera fab will be able to meet between 30% and 35% of Asia’s semiconductor demand, making it the region’s most important centre for semiconductor production. Opportunities for semiconductor and electronics manufacture and design are proliferating close to the fab. Gujarat and Dholera have a great chance to grow into one of India’s major semiconductor and design ecosystems.
Future vision of semiconductor manufacturing
We will experience disruption from Russia and Ukraine in 2022–2023, and some of 2023–2024 may also be affected. The planned and economic outlook for semiconductor production, however, is for the next ten years. After COVID-19, value chains are transforming, and India will be a dependable supplier of semiconductors to the rest of the globe. According to sources, MeiTY has received at least five offers from businesses looking to invest in India’s semiconductor manufacturing industry, according to reliable sources. All significant global players have expressed a desire to move their semiconductor manufacturing operations to India.
Investment in Avirahi City
More than 1500 pleased consumers have reserved flats in Avirahi City, one of the most exciting developments in Dholera SIR. Homes in Avirahi City, which has more than 1900 homes and villas, start at just 5 lakhs, which is amazingly affordable and one of the key reasons why so many people are booking their dream homes there. The city also has excellent infrastructure. You should reserve your property as soon as you can because the Dholera smart city plot price is increasing. You might get a significant discount if you make a reservation right away directly through the website
