Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway Project Approved By Cabinet Ministry Under Bharatmala Project For 3000cr – Boom For Avirahi Dholera Smart Metro City Buyers
We have already come across the news that development is to touch various Indian cities. The government has declared that the development will take place in various phases. It has recently approved the plan of constructing 1000 km of expressways under the NHDP Phase-V. The presumed expenses can be somewhere around Rs 16,680 crore as per DBFOT.
In the massive plan, the government announced to build 83,677 km of highways by the end of March 2022. The total cost to be about Rs 7 lakh crore. The ambitious Bharatmala project is to be a part of it.
The Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari expressed that the project will drive the economic growth in the country in the positive direction helping to realize the vision of Narendra Modi’s New India.
The Bharatmala Pariyojana Programme constitutes expressway projects of Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Amritsar-Katra, Delhi-Meerut, Chennai-Bangalore, Kanpur-Lucknow, Vadodara-Mumbai and Ahmedabad-Dholera. As per Public Investment Board (PIB) release, the total length is around 1,837 km. recently the project was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
The Bharatmala Pariyojana Programme is so far the single largest outlay under the government road construction scheme (till December 2017). It will give special emphasis on connecting the border areas and rural areas including the backward and tribal areas. The project is also said to connect 550 district headquarters. Currently, there are only 300 of them connected to each other by a highway. With the progress of the project, there would be a minimum of a 4-lane highway. The corridors will be raised to 50 from the current 6. 80% of the freight traffic will be moved to the national highways connecting with 116 feeder routes (FR), 67 northeast multimodal waterway ports, 66 inter-corridors (IC) and 24 logistics parks.
On February 8, 2018, in a written response to the Lok Sabha, the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Chemical & Fertilizers, Mr. Mansukh L Mandaviya informed that 800 km of the expressway will be implemented in Phase I of the development of Bharatmala Pariyojana. The government has already approved an outlay of 40,000 crores rupees.
Additionally, the Government has also approved the proposal for another expressway. It will be called the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. It will have a length of 135 km.
