Earlier in 2019, to set up a firing range for the Indian Army, the Government of Gujarat earmarked 200 square kilometres of land at Dholera SIR. Thus, total 500 acres of land is earmarked for the defence sector in Dholera SIR, making it an emerging hub for the aerospace and defence sector of the country. The government has also formed a dedicated policy for the aerospace and defence sector. The state government has been promoting Dholera SIR as an investment destination for a decade now.
