PM Modi’s Dream Project Begins Amidst Road Shows

Prime Minister Narendra Modi always had a dream of growing an industrial city in Gujarat. His longtime dream is all set to come true with the Dholera Industrial City in Gujarat. The Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd (DICDL) organized road shows in Bengaluru on the 2nd of August.

The DIC Development Ltd has sought for interaction with different investors along with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from varied areas so as to showcase the available opportunities in the developing smart city.

The key speakers of the show were CEO & MD of DMICDC, Alkesh Kumar Sharma; Jai Prakash Shivahare, Managing Director, Dholera Industrial City; Mamta Verma, Industries Commissioner, GoG, etc.

Talking about Dholera, it is situated in Gujarat, 100 km away in the south from Ahmedabad. It is so far the largest node on the DMIIC that is known to have excellent connectivity with all sorts of transport and communication systems. Moreover, connection to other major cities of Gujarat like Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Vadodara is also very well established here.

If assumptions are to be believed, Dholera will turn out to be the first smart city in the country bringing foreign investors to India because of it being within the proximity of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial corridor. Thus, the region stands as a center for upcoming economic growth.

Dholera Smart City is known to be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, sustainable infrastructure and everything that a modern settlement needs. It has a ‘Plug & Play’ approach right from the start, thus, each and every land parcel is ICT enabled. Right at the plot level, completely built up infrastructure is offered in the developing city.

The Central Government (DMICDC Trust) and the Gujarat State Government (DSIRDA) created DICDL to execute the project. A senior government delegation visited the road show to discuss potential business opportunities at the Dholera Industrial City, whereas the captains of the industry are situated in Bangalore.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had said a few months back that the project will be showcased to the world community as an investment destination in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held in January next year. He further added that Dholera metro city Gujarat will be the bigger than Singapore and would have water transport facilities as in Venice.

Now, it’s time to wait and watch if all this turns out to be real.
