The Power Station at Dholera SIR By Year-End

Dholera Sir is a promising city in Gujarat where investors are spending a humongous amount to develop various commercial and Residential Projects Dholera. The state government said that Torrent Power Limited has started to install a 400KV power plant at Dholera SIR and it will be completed in December 2021. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel claimed that the state government’s Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is going smoothly and the government is planning to start several long-term projects in this region. It will be a bigger development than Delhi and Singapore. He was responding to the Opposition Congress which alleged that the investors’ money seemed to have ruined. Because as of now only gando baval were visible at the proposed site.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also informed that the work on 66 KV power sub-station by Torrent Power Limited at DSIR has been completed. Moreover, the work on a 400 KV power sub-station was likely to be finished by the year-end.

Nitin Patel said that there will be an industrial development at Dholera, which will be unprecedented in the entire country. Dholera SIR will become bigger and better than Singapore. The government is planning to do everything in a phased way. Patel said DSIR is spread over 920 square kilometres and 22 villages have been included in it and 422 square kilometres area will be developed. He also claimed that worth Rs 9,000 crore is in progress at DSIR.

The government has also developed a solar park for establishing India’s first world-class greenfield Dholera smart city project. Dholera solar park is a 5GW solar power project being developed in two phases in Dholera village, approximately 80km from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

Gujarat Urja Nigam Limited (GUVN) has been developing the project through a public-private partnership (PPP). The company is working closely with Gujarat Power Corporation (GPCL), Gujarat Electric Transmission Corporation (GETCO), Solar Energy Corporation (SECI) and Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) for quick implementation of the project.

The first 1GW-phase is being developed with an investment of Rs5bn ($695m) by GPCL, while the second 4GW-phase will be developed by SECI with an estimated investment of Rs20bn ($2.7bn).
The state government is also encouraging more investments at Dholera SIR to make this place more attractive, appealing, accessible, and invest-friendly.
